Job Title: Order Packer / Warehouse Associate
Job Summary:
Responsible for verifying and packing book products for customer orders, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper handling throughout the packing and shipping process.
Pay:$17.50
Hours: 9:30am-6pm with OT
Essential Duties:
- Inspect books for damage and verify order details, including entry numbers and quantities
- Select appropriate packing methods based on order size and shipping requirements
- Arrange books efficiently into corrugated boxes, t-boards, or flats while adhering to weight limits
- Prepare completed orders and move them onto conveyor systems for shrink-wrapping and shipment
Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic reading and writing skills (high school level)
- Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow safety procedures in a warehouse environment
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to handle multiple tasks based on workflow demands
- Ability to meet productivity and quality standards
- Reliable attendance
- Effective communication and ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 6 months of continuous work experience
- At least 6 months of experience involving physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs:
- Up to 10 lbs continuously
- 11–20 lbs frequently
- Up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to push/pull up to 20 lbs of force (frequently lighter loads, occasionally heavier)
- Continuous use of hands for gripping and grasping
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, crawling, and reaching overhead
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions
