Packer

Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Packer at our Miramar location. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately packing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment, including large, heavy and oversize items while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards as part of the production lines in the manufacturing department according to the guidelines established by leadership.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

• Follow the work instructions and shipping specifications when packaging heavy, oversized, and specialty products while working at the last station in any of the different production lines, guaranteeing the specifications of the product packaging are met
• Assemble crates, pallets, cartons, and other packaging materials as required according to the specific product manufactured in the production line
• Secure products being prepared to be shipped using stretch wrap, strapping, cushioning materials, and other protective models
• Apply accurate shipping labels, documentation, and customer-specific markings as needed to properly identify the product
• Verify item counts, product numbers, and order information against packing lists and work orders
• Assist with loading, staging, and movement of heavy products within the facility
• Use cranes, hoists, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment to move large parts safely
• Report damaged products, equipment issues, safety concerns, or inventory discrepancies to the supervisor
• Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy)

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination, to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts, in the performance of essential functions
• Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift no more than 70 pounds independently and team lift 135 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility
• Ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist for up to 10 hours
• Associates operating machinery must have a mechanical aptitude with an attention to detail
• Ability to complete tasks on the manufacturing process with moderate supervision and direction
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment with warm temperatures
• Demonstrated strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be available for overtime
• Ability to use RF Scanner
