Job Title: Packing Manager
Location: Lebanon, PA
Pay: $90,000 to $110,000
Shift: 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, plus weekends as needed
Responsibilities
Assist the Plant Manager with managing plant activities and coordinating employees to ensure the plant meets production goals on time and at the best quality
Achieve manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities
Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process
Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation with all departments and the company
Complete the production plan by communicating with supervisors on scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
Provide manufacturing information by analyzing production performance records and data such as KPIs and metrics to drive continuous improvement and cost savings, answering questions and responding to requests
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action
Read and understand routine financial statements and budgets
Assume most duties of the Plant Manager in their absence
Abide by all company policies and safety and operating procedures
Plan and facilitate meetings with supervisors and direct reports, and work with HR to recruit, coach, and discipline employees
Work for extended periods in a cold, wet environment requiring protective clothing
Work in an environment with extreme temperature changes, from very hot to very cold
Work in a fast-paced environment around heavy meat processing equipment
Perform extensive walking and standing throughout the shift on a daily basis
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of food and/or meat processing, quality assurance programs, GMPs, SQF, and HACCP
Ability to train, motivate, and supervise personnel fairly and consistently
Ability to recognize problem situations and take appropriate resolution steps
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Basic mathematical skills
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to work in teams and be self-motivated
Reliable, prepared to contribute, and open to constructive feedback
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience
3 years of supervisory or managerial experience
Experience in the meat, poultry, or food processing industry
Knowledge of SAGE software
Bilingual (Spanish)
