Penmac Staffing is hiring a Packaging Operator for a manufacturing facility in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, 1st shift opportunity for dependable individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment. The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating packaging and production equipment, ensuring product quality, maintaining a safe work environment, and meeting daily production goals. Requirements for the Packaging Operator
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and climb throughout the shift
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, gloves, and face masks as needed
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet, and manufacturing environments
- Comfortable working around common manufacturing allergens
Packaging Operator Responsibilities
- Operate sacking and packaging equipment according to production schedules and specifications
- Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality and packaging standards
- Verify bag weights, labeling accuracy, sequencing, and cleanout procedures
- Notify plant leadership of quality concerns or out-of-specification conditions
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as assigned
- Complete production paperwork, work orders, and required documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following sanitation standards
- Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements
- Communicate equipment or production issues with supervisors and team members
- Assist with training and mentoring new employees once qualified
- Participate in required training programs and work overtime as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership
