Job Summary:The PACU Manager is a working leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the post-anesthesia care unit. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while managing staff performance, departmental processes, and resource utilization. The Manager also supports continuous improvement initiatives and fosters professional development within the team.
Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day PACU operations while maintaining clinical involvement
- Plan, direct, and manage staffing assignments to ensure proper coverage and productivity
- Review and approve staff performance evaluations and set employee goals
- Maintain and update departmental policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
- Monitor facility conditions and implement corrective actions for issues
- Participate in process improvement and quality initiatives
- Act as a change agent and support leadership decisions through role modeling
- Manage departmental budgets and inventory control
- Support staff development, education, and professional growth
- Engage in ongoing continuing education and professional development
Requirements:- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
Schedule:- Full-time
- Day shift
- No weekends
Setting:- Acute care hospital
