PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit team at Summa Health Akron Campus. The ideal candidate will have strong post-operative recovery experience, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment.

This is a day-shift assignment with no weekends and no on-call requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to post-anesthesia and post-operative patients
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, including airway management, pain control, and vital sign monitoring
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and accurately
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
• Perform phlebotomy procedures as required
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Educate patients and families regarding post-operative recovery and discharge instructions
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2+ years of recent PACU RN experience
• Minimum 1+ year of recent phlebotomy experience
• Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months
  • Epic experience must be clearly listed on the candidate s resume
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program approved by ACEN or CCNE
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills

Scheduling & Assignment Notes

• Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
• No weekends
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of RTO (Requests exceeding 7 days will be automatically rejected)
• Interviews are mandatory
