Job Summary: Performs pre-admission screenings of patients of which an ARU referral has been ordered, determines if the patient meets ARU admission criteria, collaborates with case-management concerning insurance benefits and initiates admission process. Assumes responsibility for completing and submitting the IRF- PAI to CMS according to State and Federal regulations. Community Education Liaison in conjunction with the rest of the Behavioral Health Team and Acute Rehabilitation Unit is responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive community education program. They coordinate the referral development process, develops and maintains accurate community education information, maintains account management systems, as well as coordinating the two unit’s internal and external communication programs.
This position may be filled by a RN, PT, OT, SPT and must meet the requirements for their discipline listed below:
RN: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or compact state license required. Demonstrate the knowledge in clinical expertise necessary to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position. NIHSS certification within one year position hire date. BLS Certification is required.
Or
Physical Therapist: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required. Current state licensure required. Demonstrate the knowledge in clinical expertise necessary to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position. NIHSS certification within one year position hire date. BLS Certification is required.
Or
Occupational Therapist: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association required. Current state licensure required and renewed yearly. NBCOT certification is required. Demonstrate the knowledge in clinical expertise necessary to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position. NIHSS certification within one year position hire date. BLS Certification is required.
Or
Speech Therapist: Master of Science or Art in Speech Language Pathology. Recipient of the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. License from the Kentucky Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (Interim license to Active Kentucky State license 9–12-month completion). Demonstrate the knowledge in clinical expertise necessary to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position. NIHSS certification within one year position hire date. BLS Certification is required.
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of experience with demonstrated leadership skills is required.
