Job Description
Salary Range:$275,000.00 To 400,000.00 Annually

The Neurologist/Pain Management Physician will evaluate neurology and pain patients, offer clinical care, and support our Traumatic Brain Injury Program. This position requires a personable and skilled provider to help build relationships, to create a positive atmosphere in our clinics and a provider who will have the ability to diagnose pathology and recommend appropriate treatments.

**Provider can sit at any nearby location to San Jose, San Francisco, Campbell, Sacramento, and Modesto.**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating patients with a multidisciplinary team to determine which candidates are appropriate on a medical basis for enrollment to the TBI Program
  • Perform neuro consultations and establish appropriate treatment plans.
  • Be a consultant for any patient in the TBI program who requires a neurologist/medical attention.
  • Evaluate and manage neurological patients.
  • Conduct spinal procedures on eligible candidates.
  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose the condition of patients and propose treatment options.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
  • Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment.
  • Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Record complete, timely and legible medical records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Current California Medical Practitioner License.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing.
  • Board Certified Physician

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
  • Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments, and health regimens to treat patient health issues.
  • Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues.
  • Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with California Workers Compensation System Preferred
  • Good knowledge base of neurology, Musculoskeletal pathology and treatment is essential.
  • Must have the ability to relate to patients in chronic pain.
  • Must understand the difference between chronic and acute pain.
  • Expected to coherently explain why increased pain is not necessarily related to increased tissue damage and how deconditioning leads to increased pain and depression.

Compensation Range:

$275,000 to $400,000 Annually
