Paint and Coatings Technician

West Sound Workforce is partnering with a leading manufacturer of outdoor sporting equipment to find a Paint and Coatings Technician to join their Bainbridge Island team. In this hands-on role, you’ll produce consistent, high-quality coating results by carefully following established processes and specifications. Working in pairs, you’ll monitor and document the work, communicate observations with engineering, and help ensure the finished product meets exacting quality standards. Attention to detail, consistency, and pride in the finished product are key to success.

Shift information:

• Monday – Thursday 4 AM - 2:15 PM

What you will do:

• Mix and apply coatings according to established specifications and quality standards
• Monitor the coating and drying process to maintain consistent production flow and identify potential bottlenecks or issues
• Track production activity, materials, inventory, and process observations accurately
• Communicate production status, issues, and changes during shift handoffs and with Engineering and R&D
• Participate in testing and process improvements focused on quality, efficiency, and material usage
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following SDS, waste disposal, and other safety requirements

What we are looking for:

• Attention to detail and the ability to consistently follow detailed processes, specifications, and quality standards
• Clear communication and proven documentation skills, with the ability to accurately communicate observations, issues, and process changes
• Problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills in a production environment
• Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain production and inventory records
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience with manufacturing, industrial coatings, paints, composite materials, or similar hands-on processes is a plus
