metals industry. As a Paint Lead at Norlen, a Ryerson family of
companies, you will oversee the daily operation and quality of work of
the paint line. Roles and Responsibilities The ideal candidate will
operate motorized material handling equipment such as an overhead crane,
side loader, and forklift It is also a requirement that when
short-handed or during periods of high demand, Leadership is responsible
for filling in where needed Responsible for training staff to ensure
they are fully trained for the tasks they are performing. Coaches,
mentors, counsels, and develops Effectively leads pre-shift safety and
production huddles with the team Ensure corrective actions are carried
out to eliminate workplace hazards Reacts to machinery breakdowns by
directing repairs when possible, arranging for outside repairs or
reassignment of personnel as needed Assume short-term responsibility for
management absences as requested All other duties as assigned or duties,
responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without
notice Requirements Successfully pass a skills-based assessment -
evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to
detail, and problem-solving skills 3-5 years of supervisory experience
Possesses leadership abilities and has a desire to advance and solid
interpersonal communication skills required Ability to multi-task and
prioritize in a rapidly changing environment Flexible, dependable, and
solutions-oriented Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam
for vision, hearing, and mobility Shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 5am - 3pm
