Position Summary

The Paint Robot Assistant helps run, monitor, and maintain our automated and semi-automatic painting systems while performing manual industrial spray painting as required. This role ensures consistent, high-quality finishes by managing part preparation, loading/unloading, paint mixing, quality inspections, and performing routine spray-booth maintenance while adhering to strict safety and hazardous material protocols.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Base Compensation Range: $16.00 – $21.00 / hour (Starting wage determined by experience)
  • 2nd Shift Premium: Includes an additional 20% shift differential
  • Total Hourly Earning Potential:$19.20 – $25.20 / hour
  • Schedule: Second Shift | 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM | Monday to Thursday

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Paint Preparation & Mixing: Retrieve specified paints from inventory. Mix base paints with appropriate thinners, components, and reducers (including two-part urethanes) to achieve the exact required spraying viscosity.
  • Production Painting: Assist the automated robotic lines and physically spray paint parts to meet precise customer and technical specifications.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect coated parts for defects, uniform thickness, and compliance with strict quality and aesthetic standards.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain safe and accurate equipment operations. Perform routine housekeeping, clean spray booths, and replace filters as required to ensure peak transfer efficiency.
  • Environmental Safety: Pour surplus paint into designated waste buckets for safe collection, handling, and tracking by the material handler in compliance with safety and hazardous waste regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of industrial spray painting or equivalent automated coating experience.
  • Dexterity & Detail: Excellent hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and sharp color sensitivity for fine quality checks.
  • Dependability: High level of dependability, punctuality, and the ability to strictly follow detailed work instructions.
  • Safety Conscious: Proactive mindset regarding personal and team safety; handles materials in a manner that minimizes hazards to self, others, and the environment.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors on the plant floor.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and ascend/descend stairs during the shift.
  • Frequently moves materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
