Role Description The Paint Technician role is a full-time, on-site position located in Holly, MI. This role is responsible for preparing and painting decorative wheel trim components, including surface preparation, mixing and applying coatings, and operating paint booths and related equipment according to established procedures. The Paint Technician monitors paint quality and finish, performs visual inspections, and follows quality control standards to ensure parts meet OEM specifications. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining a clean and safe work area, performing routine equipment checks, documenting work and inspection results, and collaborating with production and quality teams to resolve issues. The role may also involve assisting with process improvements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and complying with all safety and environmental regulations.

• Clean work areas: sweep, pickup tags and trash, keeping area in state of good housekeeping

• Monitor department goals and objectives

• Ensure all production machinery is working properly

• Coordinate all maintenance on equipment

• Order and replace parts and supplies
• \n
• Assist in tooling design
• \n
• Attend weekly production, launch, and continuous improvement meetings

• Promote and enforce safety through enforcement of plant safety policies, safe work practices and good house keeping
• \n
• Troubleshoot problems concerning machinery, system and quality of production
• \n
• Maintain paperwork and reports
• \n
• Reduce material costs and waste
• \n
• Maintain accurate inventory
• \n
• Write robot programs and maintain robot backups
• \n
• Test new equipment and paints
• \n
• Reduce material, labor and waste cost
• \n
• Monitor portable containers for correct labels and hazard warnings
• \n
• Make robot job changes and paint changes for production
• \n
• Mix and monitor paint and catalyst levels
• \n
• Maintain daily logs and paperwork
• \n
• Perform trouble shooting and system checks
• \n
• Track and monitor fluid flow, paint temperature and paint viscosity
• \n
• Monitor and maintain paint kitchen
• \n
• Hand spray parts as needed
• \n
• Assist in repairing equipment as needed
• \n
• Monitor and check quality of parts
• \n
• Replace and check paint system filters
• \n
• Rebuild paint guns, clean fluid nozzles and replace paint and air lines
• \n
• Manage handling and labeling of hazardous materials
