Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Paint Technician - Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the fabrication and development of mechanical engineering designs, painting/coating and modifications of assemblies and related hardware. With little supervision, technician must demonstrate good knowledge of painting/coating processes including experience with painting and coating of flight hardware. Must be willing to work any shift.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:

• Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the fabrication and development of mechanical engineering designs, painting/coating and modifications of assemblies and related hardware.

• With little supervision, technician must demonstrate good knowledge of painting/coating processes including experience with painting and coating of flight hardware.

• Must be willing to work any shift.

• Other duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance

• Proficient in use of precision measuring instruments.

• Experience in handling chemicals such as Isopropyl Alcohol and Acetone

• Adept at reading drawings, process specification, and work order instructions.

• Able to perform work daily in an approved clean room environment, to include wearing clean room garments.

• Must be able to work any shift.

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance

• Proficient in use of precision measuring instruments.

• Experience in handling chemicals such as Isopropyl Alcohol and Acetone

• Adept at reading drawings, process specification, and work order instructions.

• Able to perform work daily in an approved clean room environment, to include wearing clean room garments.

• Must be able to work any shift.

• Weekends and overtime may be required when necessary.

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AA degree or other two-year technical degree

• Familiar with Northrop Grumman Corporation processes.

• 7+ years of experience in the use of prepreg, bagging, autoclaves, ovens and release materials.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to supplement work order and other data requirements

Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate''s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
