Operate automated and manual powder-coat paint systems to produce quality parts according to production schedules, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Operate powder-coating and painting equipment.
Inspect painted parts for defects such as incomplete coverage, surface imperfections, or other quality issues.
Perform quality checks and coating tests to verify paint adhesion, thickness, and finish quality.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine masking and plugging requirements.
Produce parts that meet established quality and production standards.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Track work orders and inventory accurately.
Complete required production records, reports, and computer transactions.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
6–12 months of manufacturing, painting, or related industrial experience preferred.
Experience with powder-coating processes is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents.
Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Basic computer and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to understand workplace instructions and complete required documentation.
Mathematical Skills
Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to work with measurements, weights, distances, and quantities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
Frequent reaching, bending, and use of hands and arms.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to distinguish colors and inspect painted surfaces for quality.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with moving machinery and equipment.
Exposure to airborne particles, paint materials, and elevated temperatures.
High-noise environment requiring hearing and other protective equipment.
Requires adherence to all safety procedures and standards.
