What you'll be doing
- Champion a "Safety First" culture by modeling safe practices and promoting safety awareness across the team.
- Perform wet painting and powder coating operations on sheet metal ranging from 16ga to 7ga.
- Hang, wash/etch, and dry parts prior to coating and painting.
- Apply surface finishes per blueprints, oral instructions, shop drawings, and applicable paint specifications.
- Stage completed parts per zone and affix labels according to drawings.
- Clean wet paint spray guns and powder coating machines regularly to maintain efficient and safe operation.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure high-quality coating on precision equipment components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
What you'll have
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience with powder coating preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise finish specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and paint specifications.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team environment.
Physical requirements and work environment
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods in an active manufacturing facility.
- Ability to regularly lift and move equipment up to [X] lbs.
- Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and exposure to paint fumes and chemical agents.
- Exposure to moderate-to-high noise levels and varying temperatures.
Safety requirements
- PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, respirator).
- Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.
- Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents
