Must be able to mix and measure paint per specifications or Technical Data Sheets.
Review work order and confirm mixed paint and part match, prior to painting in booth
Inspect details and evaluate the painting work required for the part
Effectively establish the correct paint for the application as flowed down by shop paperwork.
Blend paint pigments in accordance with specified coatings and colors
Clean parts as per specification including minor sanding to detail surface before applying paint.
Coat aluminum surfaces with the prescribed epoxy, lacquer, resin or other material before applying the final color coat.
Paint part according to specification and thickness
Keep paint booth filters changed, booth FOD free and complete paperwork. This may include Changing out of booth filter chromate and solvent contaminated paint booth filters
Able to paint effectively on different surfaces and metals
Post paint inspection of parts for appearance and proper coverage.
Observe safety regulations and wear protective masks and clothing during spray painting operations.
Complete the paint daily checklist.
Properly utilizes all PPE required under OSHA Guidelines.
Maintains all paint equipment.
High School Diploma or GED
Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Able to interpret work instructions, policies and procedures
Able to correctly complete documentation
Able to correctly mix paint
Able to apply water based primers and topcoats
Able to maintain gun and booth cleanliness standards
Able to apply all types of paints
Act as Lead for the department
Able to apply new and customer supplied paints
Able to Train and Develop all levels of painters
Able to manage work flow and maintain schedules
