Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To apply finishes to a variety of parts and assemblies.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Working from oral and written instructions and established procedures, prepare painted surfaces, spray primers, polyester, urethane and various paint finishes to basic parts, or assemblies.
  • Uses minimal judgment in obtaining desired finish and may work under the guidance and instruction of other painters.
  • Prepares traceability sheets for FAA tracking.
  • Uses spray gun, simple hand tools, and other measuring instruments.
  • Mixes paint according to specifications.
  • Professionally applies paint to basic surfaces while maintaining finish requirements acceptable to shop supervision and quality control.
  • Adjusts and cleans spray gun and paint equipment or other company tools checked out for performing job assignments.
  • Keeps immediate work area clean and orderly and works in accordance with general safety practices.
  • Responsible only for own work.
  • Performs other related duties as required such as sealing a variety of aircraft components.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High school education or equivalent and Textron Aviation's blueprint reading class preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 months of aircraft spray painting, masking, and cleaning experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
