As a Painter Helper, you will support wet paint and powder coat operations by assisting with material preparation, masking, part handling, cleaning, and general production support. This role offers hands-on experience and opportunities for long-term growth within the paint department.

Position Summary

The Painter Helper is responsible for supporting industrial painting operations by preparing parts, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting painters throughout the production process. This position plays an important role in maintaining workflow efficiency, paint quality, and production readiness.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn industrial wet paint and powder coating processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal parts and components for painting
• Perform masking and tape application as required
• Clean and prep surfaces before paint application
• Hang, move, and organize parts for production
• Clean paint guns and painting equipment
• Assist painters during wet paint and powder coat operations
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Support production schedules and workflow needs
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Assist with material handling and shop support tasks as needed

Painting & Production Skills

• Basic understanding of industrial painting environments preferred
• Ability to learn wet paint and powder coating processes
• Strong attention to detail and surface preparation
• Ability to follow instructions and work within a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
• Good organizational and housekeeping skills

Tools & Equipment Used

• Paint preparation tools
• Masking materials and tape
• Paint guns and spray equipment
• Cleaning supplies and solvents
• Material handling carts and racks
• Hand and power tools
• PPE and safety equipment

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good attendance and reliability
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and move materials throughout the shift
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic
• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Compensation

• Starting pay: $18/hour
• Full-time position
• 40 hours guaranteed per week
• Stable work schedule

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and move materials regularly
• Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and work in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to work safely around paint equipment and machinery

Work Environment

This position works inside a manufacturing and industrial paint facility. Employees may be exposed to paint fumes, dust, noise, heat, and production equipment. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
