As a Painter I, you will support wet paint and powder coat operations while assisting with surface preparation, paint application, material handling, and production support tasks. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow established painting and quality procedures.

Position Summary

The Painter I is responsible for performing entry-level industrial painting tasks while supporting production schedules and quality standards. This position requires the ability to apply paint to basic components, assist with material preparation, and maintain clean and organized work areas under supervision.

The ideal candidate has foundational painting knowledge, understands basic paint preparation and mixing procedures, and is motivated to continue developing technical painting skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply paint to basic metal parts and components
• Support wet paint and powder coat production operations
• Prepare surfaces prior to paint application
• Assist with simple paint mixing and material preparation
• Follow paint procedures, production standards, and quality requirements
• Support general paint department operations and workflow
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Assist with masking, hanging, and moving parts as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Support production schedules and team objectives

Painting & Production Skills

• Basic industrial or automotive painting experience preferred
• Basic understanding of paint preparation and mixing procedures
• Familiarity with wet paint and powder coat environments preferred
• Strong attention to detail and surface quality
• Ability to follow instructions and standardized processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Good organizational and housekeeping skills

Tools & Equipment Used

• Paint guns and spray equipment
• Wet paint and powder coat systems
• Paint preparation and mixing tools
• Masking materials and tape
• Cleaning equipment and supplies
• Material handling carts and racks
• Hand and power tools
• PPE and safety equipment

Qualifications

• Basic experience in industrial or automotive painting preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and production procedures
• Good attendance and reliability
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
• Attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Compensation

• Starting pay: $20/hour
• Full-time position
• 40 hours guaranteed per week

Work Environment

This position works inside a manufacturing and industrial paint facility. Employees may be exposed to paint fumes, dust, heat, noise, and production equipment. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
