Qualifications:

Texas Operator's License

Experience, knowledge and skill to perform any painting with the district

Physically able to lift 50 pounds

Ability to comprehend English (written and oral)

Primary Purpose:

Help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assume primary responsibility for the selection of materials and for the decor in any facility in the district (renovation).
• Perform refinishing task requested on approved work order request.
• Responsible for the safe use and storage of all painting materials and supplies.
• Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
• Recognize and inform Maintenance Supervisor of any painting needs on any facility in the district.
• Able to operate an electro-static or airless sprayer.
• Physically able to carry painting equipment and supplies for an extended period of time.
• Ability to work alternate shifts or occasional overtime.

Equipment Used:

Brushes, rollers, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, spray equipment, sand and water blaster, air compressor, dry wall tools and equipment, hand tools, ladders, scaffolding. Light truck or van.

Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to operate hand and power tools and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work outside and inside; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding; and around machinery with moving parts. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noises, fumes, and toxic chemicals. Frequent districtwide travel.
