Position Summary:
The Painter is responsible for all of the painting needs of the Convention Center which results in maintaining a ‘like-new’ appearance of the facility. The Painter works with the Chief Engineer to develop the schedule of repair work and periodic refreshing to achieve this. Though classified as the facility Painter, the position assists in a variety of disciplines as needed.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.00.

Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks in a timely manner with a high regard for quality that will consistently meet and / or exceed Palm Beach County Convention Center standards.
- Clean, repair, and paint or stain surfaces inside and outside the facility as needed or scheduled.
- Install, patch, and finish drywall, concrete, and plaster surfaces.
- Keep all equipment associated with painting and finishing clean and free of material build-up.
- Maintain paint inventory and order paint and materials as needed.
- Accurately maintain records of labor time, parts used, and work accomplished while demonstrating an attention to detail.
- Work with Chief Engineer to notify facility personnel through clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing, about upcoming or ongoing work status.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required in a team environment that encourages exceptional service to our clients and the facility.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial painting and project management.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional college or trade school training for commercial painting/building maintenance is a plus.
- Knowledge of the compatibility of paint products and the surfaces on which they are applied.
- Experience with the use of pressure washers, airless sprayers, and other technical equipment.
- Able to understand the paint schedule from construction prints.
- Relevant experience in a first-class Convention Center environment preferred.
- Must be a self-starter who can work with little or no supervision and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
- To deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events and adapt in the work environment.
- To work beyond normal business hours, including nights & weekends as the schedule dictates.
