Are you an experienced painter with automotive, body shop, or industrial coating experience? Penmac Staffing is seeking an Painter to join a leading equipment reconditioning operation. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience with spray equipment, surface preparation, and paint application. Experience with the Graco Pro-Mix 2KS paint system is highly desired.RequirementsTo be considered for this Painter position, candidates should:
- Have previous automotive, body shop, industrial painting, or refinishing experience
- Have experience operating spray painting equipment
- Have experience with the Graco Pro-Mix 2KS paint system preferred
- Be able to perform surface preparation, sanding, and finishing work
- Have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Have reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
ResponsibilitiesAs an Industrial Painter, you will help restore reconditioned equipment to a high-quality, customer-ready finish while supporting production and quality standards. Responsibilities include:
- Sanding, grinding, cleaning, and preparing surfaces for primer and paint
- Removing rust, coatings, and surface defects to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Performing body repairs, including dent removal and panel straightening
- Applying and sanding body filler to achieve smooth finishes
- Mixing and applying primers, basecoats, and topcoats using spray equipment
- Troubleshooting and setting up paint systems, including the Graco Pro-Mix 2KS system when applicable
- Adjusting spray equipment to achieve proper coverage and finish quality
- Buffing, polishing, wet-sanding, and detailing completed units
- Conducting final quality inspections and correcting paint defects as needed
- Maintaining paint equipment, tools, and work areas
- Following all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Auto body, refinishing, or industrial coating certifications
- Paint mixing and color matching experience
- Welding and panel replacement experience
- Manufacturing or remanufacturing experience
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, and climbing approximately 90% of the workday
- Sitting approximately 10% of the workday
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds
- Regular use of hands, tools, and spray equipment
Schedule and Pay
- Training Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for approximately 2-3 weeks
- Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Occasional Saturdays from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- Overtime is expected as production continues to grow
- Pay: $23.00 per hour
