North Westchester Restorative Therapy and Nursing is seeking a Temporary Painter.
Our Painter will be responsible for the following:
- Painting interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, structures, equipment, and furnishings where appearance, as well as surface protection, is important;
- Removes old finishes using appropriate methods to prepare surfaces for repainting;
- Tints, tones, matches, blends, and mixes various additives in prescribed proportions and required consistency;
- Uses proper precautions, materials, and techniques to ensure a clean safe work environment;
- Applies coating techniques to ensure surfaces meet match, texture, decorative, thickness, and level requirements;
- Prepares and sizes walls, cuts trim, wallpaper and/or vinyl;
- Removes and replaces old caulking
- Tapes and spackles drywall when required;
- Repairs, removes, and replaces old trim as required (i.e. cove base, corner guards, and various moldings)
- Maintains proper care, cleaning and storage of brushes, rollers, spray guns, paints, ladders, and other material and equipment used the worksite; and,
- Adheres to a given schedule completing work on time,
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one-year experience as a commercial painter or as maintenance within a commercial setting
- Must be able to follow given directives and schedules
- Must be able to ambulate, up and downstairs, ladders, and scaffolding
- Must be able to bend at knees repeatedly during shift in the performance
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds
