Industrial Painter (Sandblasting & Spray Coating) Full-Time

Are you an experienced Industrial Painter, Sandblaster, or Spray Coating Technician looking for a hands-on role with cutting-edge equipment? Join a growing team where your skills in surface preparation, sandblasting, and industrial coatings are valued and rewarded.
In this role, youll work on large industrial equipment and locomotive components, using advanced tools and techniques to deliver high-quality finishes while maintaining strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation including sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, and taping
- Execute sandblasting operations to remove rust, coatings, and contaminants
- Apply industrial primers, paints, and specialty coatings using pressure spray systems
- Mix and prepare paints, coatings, and finishing materials to specification
- Complete bodywork repairs such as filling, glazing, grinding, and touch-ups
- Apply decals, stencils, and finishing details to completed equipment
- Power wash and clean locomotives, railcars, and industrial components
- Mask and protect surfaces not intended for blasting or painting
- Inspect, set up, and maintain spray equipment, blast systems, compressors, and tools
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, winches, and manlifts
- Accurately follow work orders, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Maintain documentation and ensure a clean, organized work environment
- Experience in industrial painting, automotive painting, sandblasting, or powder coating preferred
- Ability to operate spray paint systems and air-powered tools
- Experience working with large industrial equipment or heavy machinery is a plus
- Strong ability to read and follow work instructions and job orders
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or material handling equipment (or willingness to train)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in industrial environments, paint booths, and blasting areas
- Ability to wear required PPE, including:
- Paint suit
- Fresh-air supplied respirator
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Protective gloves
- Face shield
