Part-time Recreational Aide

The City of Auburn Recreation Department - Auburn PAL Center - is currently seeking two energetic part-time recreational aides. The Auburn PAL Center is an after-school drop-in program.

Duties include oversight and providing a safe, healthy and fun experience for PAL Center members; organizing, leading, teaching and participating in games and activities appropriate for the age group and for diverse interests of the program participants; providing appropriate equipment and materials for activities and events; following department behavioral protocol and completing required documentation; assisting with special events, field trips and activities; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff; and acting as a positive role model at all times.

Successful candidates must be at least 17 years of age and must enjoy working with youth; be able to follow written and verbal directions from Director and Coordinator; possess working knowledge of recreational activities such as arts and crafts. Must be dependable and have a reliable mode of transportation. Successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.

Rate of pay for this part-time 10 hour per week position is $15.10 per hour. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
