Job Summary:
A Palletizer/Forklift Operator is responsible for stacking, organizing, wrapping, and transporting finished products safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse or production facility. This role ensures products are properly palletized, inventory is moved accurately, and materials are available to support production and shipping operations while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts to transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Stack, organize, and palletize products according to customer and company specifications.
- Wrap, band, and label pallets to prepare them for storage or shipment.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring products are handled safely and without damage.
- Supply production lines with materials and remove completed products from production areas.
- Verify product quantities and inspect pallets for quality, stability, and proper labeling.
- Scan inventory using RF scanners or warehouse management systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform routine forklift inspections and report any equipment issues or maintenance needs.
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse, staging, and production areas.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and forklift operating procedures.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory control as needed.
- Work collaboratively with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to meet daily production and shipping goals.
- Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Experience with palletizing, material handling, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and walking.
- Basic math and inventory skills.
- Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with shipping and receiving operations.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
- Ability to meet productivity and quality standards while maintaining accuracy.
- Flexible to work overtime as needed.
