Description

JOB TITLE: Panel Research Contractor
LOCATION: Remote (West Coast preferred); PT hours required.
DURATION: 6 Months (Possible Extension)
PAY RANGE: $67 - $77/hr.

TOP 3 SKILLS:
  • 3+ years of qualitative research execution (in-depth interviews, diary studies, concept testing, usability) with remote moderation fluency.
  • Experience with analysis, synthesis, and readout writing for Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • B2B/SMB research background and familiarity with AI-native research tools (AI moderators, synthetic personas, dscout, etc.) and panel or research community experience are a plus.

Company:
Our client is a Fortune 500 multinational technology company headquartered in Menlo Park, CA.

Job Description:
The Company is building a new AI-powered assistant for advertisers. To move faster on which product bets are worth building, the UX Research team is standing up an always-on Custom Research Panel of opted-in advertisers we can engage on demand. We are hiring a Panel Research Contractor to own the execution arc for tactical qualitative studies running on that panel — from research-question scoping through readout — so the panel produces the signal it was built to produce.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Scope research questions from product-team asks and UXR priorities; match each RQ to the right panel study format. Partner with area UX Researchers to ensure panel studies complement (not duplicate) area-owned research.
  • Draft discussion guides, screeners, and task protocols for sprint-end qualitative, concept testing, bespoke, and weekly engagement studies. Route drafts through UXR review before fielding.
  • Moderate live sessions (remote) and design/moderate async studies (AI moderator, dscout, etc.).
  • Code data, draft findings, and produce sprint-end and concept-test readouts.
  • Contribute to cross-Area synthesis via the shared insights substrate.

Required Experience:
  • 3+ years of qualitative research execution (in-depth interviews, diary studies, concept testing, usability)
  • Moderation fluency
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving product environment and how to engage with cross-functional partners (Product Manager, Product Designer, Engineer, etc.)
  • SMB or B2B research background is a plus
  • AI-native execution (or willingness to learn) — expected to use AI tools to accelerate study design, analysis, and readout drafting

Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day work is anchored to the Custom Research Panel — an always-on pool of opted-in advertisers we engage on demand for tactical research.
  • Scope research questions from product-team asks and UXR priorities; pair each RQ to the right panel study format.
  • Draft discussion guides, screeners, and task protocols; route through UXR review.
  • Moderate live and async sessions (in-depth interviews, diary studies, concept tests, usability, microsurveys).
  • Code data, draft findings, produce sprint-end and concept-test readouts.
  • Contribute to cross-Area synthesis via the shared insights substrate and the panel study library.
Cadence Expectation: Up to weekly

Must-Have HARD Skills:
  • Qualitative research execution — in-depth interviews, diary studies, concept testing, usability.
  • Remote moderation fluency.
  • Analysis, synthesis, and readout writing for Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • B2B or SMB research background.
  • Familiarity with AI-native research tools (AI moderators, synthetic personas, dscout, etc.).
  • Panel or research community experience.

Experience:
  • 3–7 Years of Experience
  • Bachelor's in a relevant social science, HCI, or research field, or equivalent applied experience.
