Panel Saw Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Panel Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a panel saw to accurately cut MDF and other wood-based materials according to production orders, drawings, and specifications. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a panel saw to cut MDF panels and other wood-based materials.
• Review work orders, cut lists, blueprints, and job specifications.
• Measure and verify material dimensions using tape measures and other precision measuring tools.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Label, organize, and stage materials for the next production process.
• Complete production paperwork and material tracking accurately.
• Monitor material usage and report shortages, damaged materials, or quality concerns.
• Perform routine machine setup, blade changes, and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with material handling using carts, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
• Support other production departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as needed to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, woodworking, or production experience preferred.
• Experience operating a panel saw, table saw, beam saw, or similar cutting equipment.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform precise measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
• ERP/WMS experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 8 10 hours per shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely handle large wood panels and finished products.
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
