POSITION: Para-Educator, ELC Program Special Education 0.75 FTE

Hurlbutt Elementary School

Job Summary: The para-educator works collaboratively with classroom teachers to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students. They provide assistance to students with diverse learning needs and help to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma & two years of post-secondary education
  • Experience working with pre-school aged children; prior experience as a para-educator preferred
  • Basic understanding of early childhood education principles and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of establishing positive and productive working relationships with teachers and students

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in active play with pre-schoolers and support physical activities
  • Stamina to keep pace with the dynamic nature of a pre-school setting
