Position: Paraeducator
Location: Polk, NE
Pay: $15.50/hour
Schedule: School-day hours (based on district calendar)
Position Summary
The Paraeducator works closely with the classroom teacher to support instruction, classroom management, and daily routines. This role assists students individually and in small groups while helping maintain a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the teacher in preparing classroom materials
Support student management and classroom organization
Provide instructional support under the direction of the teacher (individual and small group)
Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records as designated
Assist with classroom routines, including:
Disciplinary support as needed
Student movement and transitions
Leading or participating in activities
Snack preparation
Maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere
Attend in-service trainings and conferences to enhance student support
Participate in classroom planning, problem-solving, and meetings
Uphold all building and district policies
Maintain strict confidentiality
Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and courtesy at all times
Work independently as situations arise
