Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing academic and social instruction and assistance to individuals or small groups of students with special education needs; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help skills, including hygiene, eating, social, community, vocational and leisure/recreational skills.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one-year experience in working with school- age children in an organized setting. AA degree is required for Phoenix, Triton and Foster ED Schools or passage of Para Pro Exam. This posting is to establish an eligibility pool and the number of vacancies for recruitment will vary throughout the school year. Applications will be screened and those considered most qualified will be invited for the written paraeducator exam. After passage of the exam those most qualified will be invited for an interview.

To be considered for this position, you must submit a completed EdJoin employment application as well as the following:

  • Copy of Transcript (Either Transcripts (48 units), Degree or Credential (If Applicable) or Proof of High School Completion)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Reference (3 letters dated within the last 18 months [LETTERS MUST BE DATED])
  • Resume
