Job Summary
The Paralegal is responsible for supporting the organization’s legal, compliance, regulatory, and contractual functions under the direction of the Compliance Officer. This role assists with contract administration, policy management, regulatory research, document review, compliance investigations, records management, and coordination with internal departments and external legal counsel. Paralegal helps ensure organizational activities align with applicable federal and state regulations, contractual obligations, and internal compliance standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with drafting, reviewing, editing, and maintaining contracts, agreements, amendments, NDAs, and related legal documents.
Track contract deadlines, renewals, obligations, and deliverables.
Maintain organized legal and compliance files, records, and documentation.
Support regulatory and compliance initiatives across the organization.
Conduct legal and regulatory research related to healthcare, employment, privacy, corporation, and operational matters.
Assist with policy and procedure review, formatting, version control, and document management.
Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, contract review, employment matters, and regulatory issues as needed.
Support internal investigations, audits, and compliance reviews.
Prepare summaries, reports, meeting materials, and correspondence for leadership.
Assist with responding to records requests, subpoenas, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
Monitor and maintain compliance-related tracking logs and reporting tools.
Support board, committee, and governance documentation assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal, personnel, and organizational information.
Assist the organization in the completion of annual vendor reviews.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of legal and compliance operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent oral, written, and customer service-oriented communication skills.
Excellent and demonstrated criticalthinking ability.
Excellent organizational skills with the abilityto respond to and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously under short time frames.
Experience with contract administration and document management is strongly preferred.
Healthcare, nonprofit, government contracting, or regulatory compliance experience preferred.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements
Education
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Paralegal certification is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of paralegal, legal support, compliance, healthcare, or regulatory experience preferred.
Travel Requirements
This position is expected to be a remote position with the consultant working from a home office.
