Paralegal – Workers' Compensation
Pay Rate: $40,000–$45,000/year; Based on experience
Location: Albany, NY (On-site)
Employment Type: Permanent
Schedule: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Experience: Paralegal experience preferred; Workers' Compensation experience a plus
Skills: Strong Microsoft Office and organizational skills required
Our growing client is seeking a Paralegal to support attorneys in a fast-paced Workers' Compensation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or advance their legal career while gaining hands-on experience in case management, legal documentation, and client support.
Responsibilities of the Paralegal will include:
- Prepare and electronically file claims, appeals, and legal documents
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, hearings, and file organization
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and government agencies
- Maintain regular phone and email communication with clients and other stakeholders
- Review, organize, and process incoming mail and case documentation
- Assist with post-hearing follow-up activities and case updates
- Conduct basic legal research and gather supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential case files
- Provide administrative and operational support to the legal team
- Perform additional duties as needed in a deadline-driven environment
Qualifications for the role of Paralegal:
- Previous paralegal experience preferred
- Workers' Compensation experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional phone etiquette and strong client service abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
