Duration: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7.5 Hours/Day | 37.5 Hours/Week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite required at 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA)


Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Center for Labor & Employee Relations (CLER). This position combines legal and administrative support responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing detailed case notes, organizing documentation, and supporting hearing and interview preparation. This role requires someone who can manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work both independently and collaboratively within a large state agency.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative and legal support to the Center for Labor & Employee Relations (CLER).
  • Draft, review, proofread, and organize legal and administrative documents.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed notes, ensuring all critical information is properly documented.
  • Assist with preparation for hearings, investigations, interviews, and other labor relations matters.
  • Organize and maintain confidential files and records.
  • Coordinate documentation and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Communicate professionally with internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience as a Paralegal or in a legal administrative support role.
  • Strong document drafting, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting labor and employee relations, employment law, or government legal functions.
  • Previous experience working with a state agency or public sector organization.
  • Experience preparing legal documentation for hearings or investigations.
