Job Description The Paralegal will assist in carrying out specific grant objectives and will work to advance the mission of Journey's End Refugee Services. The Paralegal will directly assist attorneys in the provision of immigration legal services, and will also provide intake, referrals, and administrative support.The Paralegal must exemplify Journey's End's core values in their work. These values include intercultural responsiveness, integrity, person-centered, empowerment, and exemplary service.Job Responsibilities Assist attorneys in providing direct immigration legal representation to the immigrant populations of Western New York (WNY), including preparation of client applications under the direct supervision of a licensed attorneyAssist attorneys in the organization and facilitation of legal consultation days, legal clinics, community information sessions, and Know Your Rights trainings across WNYProvide intake to prospective clients seeking immigration legal services in WNYProvide referrals to appropriate internal agency programs or partner agencies to meet law-related and other client needsAssist attorneys in developing, sustaining, and growing meaningful partnerships with local community groups to organize and host eventsAssist with outreach and the development/distribution of a list of resources for referrals on programs and services available to new AmericansOther duties as assignedQualifications Previous office experience (including filing, letterdrafting, data entry, completion of organizational tasks in a timely manner, etc.)Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to document work accurately and clearlyPossess enthusiasm to work on a dynamic and fastpaced Rapid Response ProjectAbility to be part of a dynamic team of talented and dedicated individuals while maintaining independence and ability to self-directExperience working with diverse populationsAbility to adapt to challenging scenarios involving clients, partners, staff, and service providersBe able and willing to travel to counties throughout Western New York#J-18808-Ljbffr
