Overview
A growing legal practice is seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support attorneys in a busy family law environment. This role will assist with case preparation, client communication, document drafting, and court filings. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting involving sensitive matters.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
- Prepare financial affidavits and assist with document collection
- Organize and maintain case files, both electronic and physical
- Coordinate court filings and ensure compliance with deadlines
- Communicate with clients regarding case status and document needs
- Schedule hearings, mediations, and attorney meetings
- Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, and witness coordination
- Track billable time and support general administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Paralegal certification preferred but not required
- 2+ years of paralegal experience, ideally within family law
- Familiarity with divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution matters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
