Position Overview

The Civil Litigation Paralegal supports attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including case intake, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and post‑judgment actions. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent legal writing, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management - Maintain case files, track deadlines, manage calendars, and coordinate workflow across active matters.

  • Legal Research - Perform statutory and case law research; prepare concise summaries for attorney review.

  • Drafting & Filing - Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, affidavits, and correspondence; file documents in state and federal courts.

  • Discovery Support - Organize document productions, review records for relevance and privilege, manage e‑discovery tools, and coordinate depositions.

  • Client & Witness Coordination - Communicate with clients, experts, and witnesses; schedule meetings; prepare interview notes and summaries.

  • Trial Preparation - Assist with exhibit preparation, trial binders, witness lists, demonstratives, and courtroom logistics.

  • Administrative Support - Maintain databases, assist with billing entries, and support attorneys with daily litigation tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Civil Litigation Experience - 2-5 years preferred, including drafting, discovery, and trial preparation.

  • Education - Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor's degree in legal studies.

  • Technical Skills - Proficiency with MS Office, e‑filing systems, and litigation support software (e.g., Relativity, CaseMap).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
