A well-established regional law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its growing Real Estate Practice Group. This role supports attorneys through all phases of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, representing lenders, developers, buyers, and sellers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of commercial real estate transactions from contract through post-closing.
  • Coordinate and prepare closing packages, including deeds, settlement statements, affidavits, and other conveyance documents.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, and exception documents while working directly with title companies and surveyors to resolve issues.
  • Track transaction milestones, manage critical dates, and maintain closing checklists.
  • Draft correspondence, memoranda, amendments, and other transactional documents for attorney review.
  • Organize and maintain electronic client files and transaction documentation.
  • Review due diligence materials, including zoning reports, restrictive covenants, management agreements, leases, and related documents.
  • Prepare lease abstracts and loan abstracts.
  • Assist with entity formations and prepare organizational and authorization documents.
  • Prepare and file UCC financing statements, order lien and UCC searches, summarize search results, and coordinate document recordings in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Handle recording and filing of documents with appropriate state and local agencies.
  • Manage post-closing tasks, including preparation of closing binders, closing indices, and tracking outstanding post-closing requirements.
  • Partner closely with attorneys, clients, title companies, lenders, surveyors, and other third parties to ensure transactions progress smoothly.
  • Assist with additional projects and transactional support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
  • Experience supporting lender, developer, and buyer/seller transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate closings, title and survey review, due diligence, UCC filings, and post-closing procedures.
  • Experience with entity formations and corporate organizational documents is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-service approach.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a deal team.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved or accredited program required.
