Summary:The candidate will be responsible for administrative case management and support of the Litigation Practice Group.Essential Job Functions:Assist attorneys with state and federal trials, including matters held both within and outside the State of South CarolinaSupport the defense of complex product liability cases involving vehicle tires, consumer products, and industrial equipmentDocket and track deadlines in compliance with judicial and procedural requirementsPrepare and file pleadings with state and federal courts, including arbitration forumsCoordinate with national discovery counsel on large-scale discovery mattersDraft and serve factual discovery responses using standardized discovery templatesMaintain discovery trackers and logsAssist with and manage document productions, summaries, and analysesAssist attorneys in preparing company representatives and expert witnesses for depositions and trial testimonyInterview witnesses and summarize testimony and productionsPrepare factual case evaluations for trial strategy and settlement discussionsAssist in the preparation of exhibit lists, impeachment materials, and demonstrative exhibits.Coordination with litigation technology vendors for trial supportCompile and organize electronic and physical trial exhibitsNecessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work successfully with multiple team members, interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.Competent to handle a variety of activities with attention to detail and quality, with the ability to follow through and follow up, and adapt to quickly meet changing deadlines and priorities.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work on short deadlines and follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision.Retain a high level of flexibility and resourceful problem solving.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.Educational and Experience Requirements:High School Diploma requiredParalegal associates degree or other relevant certification preferredPrior Paralegal experience requiredPrior employment law experience preferredWork Environment and Physical Demands:In office positionAbility to work extended hours when necessary.Normal office environment; no unusual physical demands.#J-18808-Ljbffr
