Paralegal II – Insurance Defense / Litigation
6-Month W2 Contract
$50/hour
Position Overview
Our client, a leading insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Paralegal II to support insurance defense litigation matters in Glendale, Arizona. This role involves complex legal file management, litigation support, legal research, and trial preparation in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review legal files and draft litigation documents including:
- Discovery responses
- Motions and pleadings
- Trial documents
- Jury instructions
- Calculate and track statutory deadlines to ensure timely compliance with court requirements.
- Manage a higher-volume and more complex caseload than entry-level paralegal positions.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and law library resources on matters involving:
- Civil procedure
- Personal injury
- Subrogation
- Perform detailed fact-finding investigations and provide comprehensive legal analyses to staff attorneys.
- Conduct insured/client interviews for discovery and case development purposes.
- Assist attorneys with:
- Trial preparation
- Arbitration and mediation readiness
- Evidence organization
- Coordination with retained experts
- Handle administrative and legal support duties including:
- Subpoena follow-up
- Law library maintenance
- Document notarization
- Maintain compliance with mandatory continuing legal education (CLE) requirements.
Qualifications
- Prior paralegal experience supporting litigation and insurance defense matters preferred.
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and legal documentation.
- Experience with Westlaw or similar legal research platforms.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
