    Responsibilities

Manage active removal-defense dockets, court deadlines, hearing dates, filing calendars, and attorney reminders.

    • Prepare, organize, and file pleadings, applications, motions, briefs, exhibits, and supporting documentation with EOIR, the BIA, USCIS, and other appropriate agencies under attorney supervision.
    • Monitor case status, court notices, filing receipts, and changes in deadlines; promptly escalate urgent issues to the supervising attorney.
    • Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized electronic and physical case files, including correspondence, evidence, court documents, and filing confirmations.
    • Communicate regularly with clients in English and Spanish to gather information and documents, explain procedural next steps, and provide case-status updates as directed by the attorney.
    • Coordinate attorney preparation for master calendar hearings, individual hearings, interviews, and case strategy meetings.
    • Review filings for completeness, formatting, consistency, and compliance with applicable court and agency requirements before submission.
    • Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, interpreters, and other team members while protecting client confidentiality.
    • Assist attorneys with all aspects of immigration removal (deportation defense) cases.

    Qualifications

    • Thorough knowledge of immigration court procedures and immigration law.
    • Experience preparing filings for the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and USCIS.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and immigration case management software.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
