This position is open in our Kansas City, MO office.

The Immigration Paralegal is responsible for a full range of business-related immigration matters.  This position will work directly with the Firm’s Immigration Attorneys to provide full-cycle production for a range of business-based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions.  This will include direct client contact and independent preparation of applications and other immigration forms for attorney review.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide full-cycle production for a range of business-based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions Advanced experience working with Microsoft programs and immigration software, preferably INSZoom.
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced, continually changing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage a large-volume caseload.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Attend and participate in internal CLEs.
  • Anticipate attorney needs.
  • Serve as a mentor to more junior Paralegal and legal assistants, as needed.
  • Stay informed of developments in Paralegal industry.
  • Familiarity and experience with adopting legal AI and ability to learn and implement new AI preferred.
  • Meet annual billable hour target of 1500.
  • Perform other duties as required.

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of paralegal experience in-house or in a law firm setting in business immigration law.
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Significant, substantive legal related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education at the discretion of the SBU Managing Director.
