    Position Overview

    A well‑respected and established law firm in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a highly skilled Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and experienced in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong written communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Case File Management - Maintain and organize litigation files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.

    • Document Preparation - Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and case summaries.

    • Discovery Support - Collect, review, and organize documents; prepare exhibit lists; coordinate document production; summarize depositions and medical or business records.

    • Court & Attorney Support - Assist attorneys with hearing preparation, trial notebooks, witness coordination, and courtroom logistics.

    • Client & Witness Communication - Communicate professionally with clients, experts, and witnesses to gather information, schedule meetings, and provide case updates.

    • Scheduling & Coordination - Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and meetings with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.

    • Legal Research - Conduct basic legal research and cite‑check documents as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience - 3-5+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting.

    • Education - Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.

    • Technical Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, case‑management software, and electronic filing systems for Missouri state and federal courts.
