We are seeking a versatile and self-motivated Paralegal to join our close-knit legal team. This role offers variety, growth opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on every case we handle.The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment while fighting for the underdog alongside our dedicated team.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive legal research using online databases and law libraries to support case preparation and consumer protection mattersAnalyze statutes, regulations, and case law related to consumer rights and unfair business practicesPrepare detailed research memoranda and case summaries for attorney reviewDraft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and consumer protection complaints under attorney supervisionPrepare routine legal correspondence, memoranda, and client communicationsMaintain and organize case files, legal documents, and correspondence in both physical and electronic formatsReview and summarize complex discovery materials, contracts, and consumer agreementsEnsure all court filings meet proper formatting requirements and deadlinesInterview clients and witnesses to gather case information and maintain detailed records of all communicationsCoordinate case timelines and track critical deadlines across multiple consumer protection casesSchedule depositions, court hearings, client meetings, and coordinate calendar management for multiple attorneysAssist with trial preparation including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and trial bindersPrepare court filings, ensure compliance with court rules, and coordinate service of processManage client billing processes, track billable hours, and prepare accurate invoicesAssist with document production, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing discovery materialsSupport general office administration and maintain professional client relationshipsMaintain strict confidentiality of all client information and privileged communicationsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm environmentProficiency in legal research databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platformsExperience with FileVine or other case management software systemsFamiliarity with e-discovery platforms and litigation support softwareStrong typing skills and document formatting abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong proofreading abilitiesKnowledge of federal and state court rules, filing procedures, and legal terminologyPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, or related fieldExperience with consumer protection law, debt collection defense, or class action litigationFamiliarity with federal consumer protection statutes (FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, etc.)Experience with e-discovery platforms and litigation support softwareNotary public certificationOur Perks and BenefitsGenerously subsidized medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany matching 401KCasual Office AttireFree parkingPet-friendly and flexible working office environmentProgressive AI tools availableResponsible Paid Time Off (AKA: Take the time you need!)If you're ready to join a team that fights for the underdog and believes in a healthy dose of fun, we want to hear from you!
