    Description

    Our client, a growing Liberty Texas-area law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support their attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or a paralegal certificate, as well as 4 or more years of litigation experience.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, exhibits, and other legal documents with exceptional accuracy.
    • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files, ensuring all documents, correspondence, notes, and records are filed appropriately.
    • Receive, organize, and distribute incoming mail and legal correspondence to the appropriate attorney in a timely manner.
    • Manage attorney calendars, including court appearances, hearings, mediations, depositions, meetings, filing deadlines, and other critical dates.
    • Prepare, file, and electronically file court documents in compliance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
    • Perform quality control review of legal documents to ensure accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and citation.
    • Conduct public records and legal research, including searches through the Texas Secretary of State, Texas Department of Insurance, county clerk records, and other governmental databases.
    • Perform litigation and lawsuit searches as requested.
    • Draft routine legal pleadings and motions, including but not limited to Motions for Default Judgment, Motions for Protective Order, and other procedural filings.
    • Monitor hearing and mediation notices and promptly notify supervising attorneys of scheduling updates.
    • Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and third parties.
    • Maintain confidentiality of client information and sensitive legal matters.
    • Assist attorneys with additional legal and administrative projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Degree and/or a Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 3 or more years of professional experience as a litigation paralegal.
    • Experience with healthcare insurance collections is preferred.
    • Prior legal assistant or litigation support experience preferred.
    • Experience handling hospital lien claims or litigation support is highly desirable.
    • Experience with electronic court filing systems (state and federal) preferred.
    • Proficiency with online legal research tools and public record databases.
    • Excellent proofreading, grammar, and document formatting skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

    Computer Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience with legal case management and document management software is a plus.
