Paralegal – Business Litigation

Location: Cleveland, OH or St. Louis, MO (On-site / Hybrid)

Position Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 (Based on experience)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal to join our Business Litigation practice group. Under the direction of attorneys, you will be responsible for assisting in matters resulting from financial services issues, including FINRA, SEC, and other state regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary and/or lead paralegal on business litigation matters.

  • Assist with fact investigation and evidence development, including document collection, review, analysis, and production.

  • Prepare case summaries, reports, and court or agency filings.

  • Organize and manage deposition, motion, hearing, and trial materials, including exhibits and supporting documents.

  • Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials with attorneys, clients, witnesses, vendors, agencies, and courts.

  • Attend meetings, hearings, trials, and other proceedings with attorneys, as needed, and utilize trial presentation software.

  • Conduct factual and legal research, including client and witness interviews.

  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other case-related documents.

  • Track deadlines, maintain case calendars, and ensure timely compliance with court rules and applicable regulations.

  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Create, maintain, and search case databases; manage document organization, chronologies, and production logs.

  • Assist with trial preparation and post-case file management, including records retention and file closure.

Qualified Candidates Will Possess

  • Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate plus three to five years’ litigation experience.

  • Experience as a financial services paralegal (strongly preferred).

  • Experience with litigation software solutions, including e-discovery platforms and exhibit and trial organization and presentation software.

  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, agency and court rules and procedures, and practices.

  • Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
