Paralegal- Medical Records

Connect Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Records Paralegal for an approximately one-month contract assignment with a law firm in Duluth. There is potential for the assignment to be extended or converted to a permanent position based on business needs, but neither is guaranteed. This position is fully onsite.

Responsibilities

• Request, track, and organize medical, insurance, pharmacy, and other non-party records
• Review and summarize medical records, identifying injuries, pre-existing conditions, treatment history, and inconsistencies
• Prepare medical chronologies and timelines for attorney review
• Monitor outstanding records requests and follow up to ensure timely receipt
• Draft and file related court documents, including Certificates of Service and Motions to Compel
• Maintain case files and update records, invoices, and notes in the case management system
• Assist with preparation for depositions, mediations, trials, and expert reviews
• Communicate with attorneys, medical providers, opposing counsel, and other outside parties
• Ensure proper handling of confidential medical information in accordance with HIPAA requirements

Qualifications

• Prior legal experience; experience handling medical or non-party records strongly preferred
• Plaintiff-side litigation experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify relevant information within large medical files
• Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
• Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
