Position Summary
The Paralegal provides essential legal and administrative support to attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting documents, managing case files, and assisting with trial preparation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery responses, and correspondence
- Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources
- Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule client meetings, court dates, and deadlines
- File documents with courts (e-filing and in-person as required)
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and trial notebooks
- Track billable time and assist with client invoicing when applicable
- Ensure compliance with court rules and legal procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in a law firm or legal setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with legal software, case management systems, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively
