    Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., a multi-office national law firm and the largest minority and women-owned law firm in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Paralegal in our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This is a part-time position offering a competitive salary.

    About the role

    • The Paralegal in this role will support attorneys handling worker's comp and general civil litigation matters. This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment while working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and support staff.

    What you'll do

    • Organize and analyze documentary evidence including medical records, reports, depositions, discovery materials, investigative documents, and claim files
    • Prepare chronologies and summaries of medical and case-related records as requested
    • Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, correspondence, and reports under attorney direction
    • Prepare and track subpoenas and records requests, including medical, billing, employment, and other relevant documents
    • Conduct background research on parties, witnesses, and experts using online research tools
    • Communicate professionally with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel
    • Monitor case files and escalate issues requiring attorney involvement
    • Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
    • Maintain organized physical and electronic case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines
    • Perform additional litigation support duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of paralegal experience in insurance defense or civil litigation, preferably in a high-volume law firm environment
    • Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records preferred
    • Familiarity with North Carolina court procedures and e-filing systems
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal certificate a plus
