Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Location:

This is an on-site opportunity in Sacramento, California, offering close collaboration with attorneys and the legal support team throughout the litigation process.

Note:

Candidates must have 1+ years of directly relevant litigation paralegal experience and a paralegal certification from an ABA-approved training program or equivalent qualification. Strong civil procedure, discovery, drafting, case management, and organizational skills are essential.

Job Description

• Support attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, motions, case preparation, and trial.
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, memoranda, affidavits, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Review, organize, analyze, and summarize discovery and case materials.
• Conduct legal and factual research and prepare clear summaries for attorneys.
• Assist with client interviews, expert witness coordination, and factual investigations.
• Manage case files, deadlines, documentation, and litigation workflow.
• Prepare jury instructions, trial binders, exhibits, and other trial materials.
• Assist attorneys with preparation for and attendance at trials.
• Monitor case status, legal fees, litigation budgets, and project deadlines.
• Help keep attorneys and matters moving by proactively following up on deadlines, filings, and required information.
• Maintain confidential and sensitive information with a high level of professionalism.
• Assist with office procedures, special projects, and other litigation support needs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure, pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings.
• Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
• Strong judgment, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Trial preparation experience is highly valued.
